5 Things it is Worth Buying on Amazon

Do your research and choose wisely because not everything you see on Amazon is worth buying.

On Amazon, we have a wide variety of products and vendors. Make sure you filter when doing your research. My fave filters are Amazon Prime and Avg. Customer Review. Also pay attention to the delivery date. If it shows “FREE Delivery for Prime members” it does not mean that the product is available for the delivery right away. Amazon came up with a very “convenient “way of listing products as prime without any product available in stock for purchase. When that is the case, you see the message “Order now and we’ll notify you via email when we have an estimated delivery date for this item.” where you should be seeing the estimated delivery time. Here is a list of things that may be worth buying on Amazon. But please, if you want to get the best price possible, always do a local research at physical stores as well as other online stores.

  1. Books

Although there are amazing book stores like the Book Outlet with a wide variety of books that smell like new (because they are new and I love that smell, don’t you? Invested is the name of the most recent book I got at Book Outlet), however, sometimes you can’t find exactly what you are looking for. That’s why shopping for books on Amazon may be a great option, not only if you are looking for the kindle version, but especially if you, like me, prefer paperback or hardcover books (no new smell in this case as the best deals you get for used books, but it may be worth the $).

  2. Fitness Accessories

Like pull up bands, resistance bands, Pilates rings and balls, yoga mats.

  3. Technology Accessories

Like tripods, cases, cables, lights. In this case, I would go with Prime in case you find any quality issues when getting your product. Make sure you can test the first few days right after you receive it so you can enjoy the return benefit in case the products is not what you were expecting.

  4. Gifts

When you are not sure about what to give to someone you can find all sorts of gifts for different prices range. In case it is a last-minute gift, more like you have at least 2 days to have it on your hands, Amazon is also a great place, however, don’t trust a 100% on their delirevy time – give at least one extra day to the promised delivery time they are advertising inside the product page.

  5. Amazon Warehouse Deals

A while ago I got pretty good deals from the warehouse. I bought some running shoes and even a rower machine from the Amazon Warehouse. However, the deals right now are not as good as they used to be. It looks like they changed how they are pricing those items, but I always like to check the warehouse deals before I place my order. It’s a habit that I recommend as I’ve been saving a few bucks here in there in things that do not really matter if someone opened or touched it before. Moreover, I always have the option to return it if I don’t think the item I got is in fair shape.

Amazon may be a good option to get the things you can’t wait too long to receive

If you want to buy something that you can find way cheaper on Chinese websites but you can’t wait for the shipment and delivery process, Amazon may be your best option. However, do not forget to contact local shops. I’ve found things way cheaper at local shops and all I need was a few minutes to go pick it up.

Don’t rely 100% on their promised delivery date

They are not really punctual, but their delivery service is hard to beat. In Calgary, for example, if you are a Amazon Prime member, you can get packages delivered in one day.

Don’t buy skincare and other expensive products

The origin of what you are getting on Amazon is doubtful. We are in the era of fake products and there is not much we can do about it other that reporting it when we are the victims. If you don’t want to lose your money and care about your health and safety, just go with more trustworthy sources.
